Snow threatens to engulf a small ski resort after snowboarders accidentally trigger a series of avalanches.

Ruth Butler, a clerk in an emporium, marries Jimmy Rutledge and thereby greatly displeases his mother, the owner of the emporium, because of Ruth's lowly origins.
