When broadcaster Pathaphi gets demoted following a public shaming, his ex Tamtawan is given the job of helping him rebuild his reputation.

The story revolves around an extended Thai Chinese family whose members' seemingly happy relationships devolve into conflict following murder of the eldest son and head of the family business.

Sattawat is a doctor whose mother has a gambling addiction, and Anusaniya's family owns a wealthy company. Sattawat's mother owes a lot of money to Anusaniya's company and in order to erase the debt, Sattawat's mother and Anusaniya's aunt cook up a plan to marry Sattawat and Anusaniya to each other to get rid of the debt. Anusaniya's half-uncle, Chayakorn, breaks up with his girlfriend, Somika, and reveals his love for Anusaniya. Anusaniya, not wanting Chayakorn to have any hope, agrees to marry Sattawat. Desperate Somika falls for Sattawat but finds out that he belongs to Anusaniya, her greatest rival. In vengeance, Somika tries everything to split the couple.

Saikano: The Last Love Song on This Little Planet. is a manga, anime, and OVA series by Shin Takahashi, creator of Iihito and Kimi no Kakera. Saikano was originally serialized in Shogakukan's Big Comic Spirits magazine. A live-action movie adaptation was released in Japan on January 28, 2006 with Aki Maeda starring as Chise. The Saikano manga and anime series has been licensed and is being distributed by Viz Media in English in North America. The anime series is distributed in the UK by Manga Entertainment. Although the city is not mentioned by name in the series, many of the locations used in Saikano can by all probability be found in Otaru-shi, west of Sapporo. The train station, "Hell Hill", the Asahi Observation Hill, the view over the harbor, and the school all have similar looking counterparts in the city of Otaru.
