New World

A small-time thug who collects debts for the local triad is torn between his criminal aspirations and his devotion to family.

The film focuses on the suffering of Chinese who were imprisoned in a forced labor camp called Jiabiangou in the Gobi Desert in winter 1960 under Mao Zedong on the grounds that they were "rightist elements". The film tells of the harsh life of these men, who coped with physical exhaustion, extreme cold, starvation and death on a daily basis.

An old bachelor Seok-joong, who has no experience in dating, falls in love at first sight with a prostitute named Eun-ha. At first Eun-ha shows no interest in Seok-joong, but gradually she begins to be flattered by his devotion and eventually falls in love with him. They marry. However, one day, Eun-ha finds out that she is infected with HIV and decides to leave Seok-joong.

It is the late 1920s when six-year-old Yingzi and her family move to Beijing. As Yingzi explores the busy streets and alleys, she befriends a widow who, driven mad by grief, stands vigil at the entrance of her hutong, waiting for her missing daughter to return.

The late artist Kim Tschang-yeul built his deep world of works around one motif: water drops. An artist's enigmatic world and a collaboration with his son, the film's co-director, who seeks to understand it, has created this meditative yet serene film. His water drops are a symbol representing the sad history of Korea and Asia, and they quietly but powerfully resonate with the world through his lifelong works and lives with his family.

Jeong-hye, a woman in her 30s, works at the post office and lives a quite monotonous life alone in an apartment with her cat. Apart from having lunch with the girls at work, she is all by herself, until an aspiring writer is attracted by her.

Kae Horii moves into her new flat in an undisclosed area of Kyoto. While unpacking her belongings, she discovers a hidden compartment behind a inconspicuous mirror. In that compartment, Kae finds a notebook, that turns out to be a diary belonging to the previous tenant. Later that evening Kae starts to read the diary. The writer of the diary is Ibuki Mano, a young lady about to embark on her first year as an elementary school teacher. Ibuki is also in love with a man named Takashi, who may or may not hold similar feelings for Ibuki.

A famous photographer with the ability to mind read returns after leaving due to his lover's suicide as she became aware of his ability. He becomes a guardian for a young girl, in midst of a serial killer's hunt.

Two bodies are recovered in a reservoir. They are of a married couple who now leaves behind two orphaned young adult children. When Angela, the cop tasked to investigate the deaths, breaks the news to the couple’s daughter Connie, Angela is stunned. Not only does the cool and undeterred Connie already know about the deaths, she claims she’s responsible for them. So begins the mystery, but also the relationship between confessor, whose tragic backstory we learn about in flashbacks, and her investigator, who has parental troubles of her own.
