A recently-released convict attempts to do right but struggles to support his wife and ailing daughter.

The opening title card explains that a painter has just finished his work when his assistant comes in and accidentally drinks varnish. The film then picks up as the painter goes haywire and sends the assistant into the painting.

Her face reminds the doctor of his late wife, and he begins to pursue her, which annoys the trio.

Snow Carnival is a 1949 short documentary film narrated by Gary Cooper, and supervised by Gordon Hollingshead. It is about the snowy attractions of mid-twentieth century Aspen, Colorado. The film was nominated for an Oscar nominated for Best Short Subject, Two-Reel.

But, on his way home to the island, he meets Riam at the pier, and swiftly falls in love with her. before learning that she’s his father, Cheng’s, new wife. Dhep’s stay at their place familiarizes him with the problems between his violent and sadistic father and stepmother, so he tries to treat Riam kindly to make her feel better. But the forbidden love rears its head again, and the pair decides to make a go of it.
